This is written by a fan from China Cafe, and translated by our lovely AnnMichelle:
When we arrived at the restaurant inside MBC Dramia, banners had been put up and other preparations were underway. We put down the gifts we brought and joined the assembly line to pack the gifts for the staff: bottled water and Berocca vitamin. A Korean fan kindly unwrapped a packet of Berocca to show me the stickers inside. It’s very well made and beautiful.
After the preparation, Onni from the Fan Club told us that videotaping was not permitted, and try not to disrupt Seung Gi’s and others’ meals when taking pictures. She then asked me and another Taiwanese fan to carry the gifts we brought for SG and Hook people to the van.
When we just walked out of the restaurant, ha, there was a young lady clad in black costume walking by. So that’s the first star of that day – Suzy. Luckily for me, when she walked past me she turned her head, so I got a good look at her face. I had to say she was much prettier than on TV. Very clear and fair complexion, delicate facial features. As she did not stop, we did not have a chance to say hello.
When we got to SG’s van, his manager had opened the trunk door. Oh dear, what a sight! Stuffed in there were all kinds of things, including a big clothes rack with SG’s clothes on. I did not think there’s any room for our gifts. But the manager started to take the gifts from me and put them in the trunk. Until even he thought there was no more room, he asked us is that all. We shook our heads and pointed to the many packages still on the ground. He took a look and muttered to himself: crazy, crazy. In fact we did not want to stuff the gifts because there was a jar of honey sent from a Malaysian friend and we did not want to break it accidentally. After a while, the manager drove over another van, newer and empty inside. We managed to put all our gifts on that van. Then we went back to the restaurant.
Then, as I sat zoning out, I did not know when I started to react: Kang Chi just walked in! He was talking with some Hook personnel near the table closest to the door. In a short while, he crossed the restaurant floor and stood right in front of us saying his greetings. The dazed author went immediately into three-alarm alert! After his greetings, Kang Chi orabi sat down at the table right in front of us. At that instant, a 30-person fan support group transformed into a 30-person press corp. Every usable photographing device was deployed to aim at Kang Chi and the whole restaurant was full of shutter clicking sounds. On hindsight, the scene must have looked silly and funny. Then our behavior was out of our control; it was simply unconscious reflex to take Kang Chi’s pictures. After about 3 min of this, Kang Chi orabi had enough of the glare and stare. He stood up, stuck his cute little tongue out, and said he would be back later. Then he acknowledged us again and left. Onni said he was really very shy and was probably going to find a hole in the ground to hide if this had continued. His shy and embarrassed expressions were so precious!
As soon as he left, from all over in all different languages were the comments: so handsome! Face so small! So cute! And all other lovely accolades.
Then we had to send one representative from each group to station at the door to hand out gifts. Thus that’s how I ended up spending the next two plus hours near the door.
The staff had already formed a long line to the food serving tables. I saw Suzy again as she made her way into the restaurant. Probably because she was in slippers, she was not as tall as I thought. Her hair, a little bit wavy, was tied casually. Her face was what I described earlier. Anyway, I was very impressed by her.
Then Gon walked in. (Ah, in fact Jae Ha’s father-in-laws, Bamboo Teacher, was the first actor to arrive. But when I saw him he was far ahead in the line already. So I just got a glimpse of him.) I have to say Gon was another totally NOT photogenic person! He looked very handsome to me in person. So why he appeared so awkward with that long face on TV! He was tall, in a white robe, and the hair style was the one we all complained about. He sat down at the table where Suzy sat (that’s also the table farthest away from the door, and where fans gathered. Fan service to them but I could only watch from afar…). He said something to Suzy (and of course I could not hear anything from where I was) and walked to the air conditioner to cool down.
And then…it was Kang Chi orabi! Sigh, it’s my luck to get stuck in this worst location. I got a very clear view of Seung Gi’s profile for about three seconds as he stepped in the restaurant. In the remaining one hour I could only see his profile in the distance. When he turned to talk to Gon, I could only see the beautiful back of his head…Oh, can I say I fell in love with the back of his head…After Seung Gi passed by, the Korean onni working alongside me touched my elbow and asked if I saw him. I nodded my confirmation. Then, the two of us smiled the dreamy fangirling smile…
As shown in the pictures, Suzy was sitting opposite Kang Chi; Gon was on his left, and then WR next to Gon. Opposite Gon was the Bamboo Teacher. During the whole time while they ate, Seung Gi was talking to Suzy and Gon almost non-stop (Seung Gi was like the big brother, taking his younger sister and brother out to play – such a cute scene). Sometimes he would look at the support videos fans had prepared. Later Seung Gi must have said something very funny, as a big blast of laughter erupted from Suzy and Gon. It was so loud even I could hear it and looked their way in surprise. Just then I saw Gon put his hands around Seung Gi’s neck pretending to choke him. Hahaha. So playful! Anyway they seemed to have a great meal. Another Chinese fan told me that Seung Gi ate a lot. And he was very cute when he ate grapes (that I saw too).
After the group photo session, I stood there talking to Taiwanese friends. As I turned, oh my lucky star, Seung Gi obba just sat down right next to me to autograph verification posters and write message cards. Not to let this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity go to waste, I leaned in, put my hand on the table, and just stood there watching him write. I was so close I could see every stroke of his clearly. And the profile of that serious and earnest face! Considering that he could be bothered by something on his peripheral vision, I resisted my irresistible urge to take more pictures. Oh, how I would love to record that gorgeous side profile!!! Later Onni asked me if Obba’s hand was hurt badly, and since I was so close if I saw the wound or not. I could only said that Onni, if it were you standing that close, would you look at his hand instead of his face?! So, I did not see it. I was just concentrating on that beautiful face. Sorry.
Oh, when I went back to the door most of people had finished their meals. Bamboo Teacher, with the gift Onni had given him earlier, stopped by us and said hello and thanks. He was so nice and kind. Later we met again on the parking lot and he greeted us once more!
One other thing, Young Yeo Wool. The little girl whom we criticized for not being very pretty (sorry!). She was so so pretty in real person! Very! (How many NOT photogenic people this drama has!) Her mom was with her for the filming and they left together after the meal. The little girl even turned back to bow to us in thanks. So cute and such good manners!
We did not get to see the other actors as they were in Team B filming. And that included Mr. Popular – 50 Liang. (Later in our gathering with Korean fans, they all asked about 50 Liang. He’s so popular!) Even the Korean fan who came to pick us up and brought us back to Seoul asked if we saw him. Hahaha.
Here let me conclude this fan account. Hope you enjoy it. See you all later!
